The Adventure People were similar to the Construx figures with jointed hips and shoulders, but unlike the Construx figures, their hands were configured in the open/grasping form, with the thumbs and index fingers in a C shape. They can be distinguished from imposter figurines by the FISHER-PRICE TOYS inscription cast on the inside of either the left or right leg [2].

That was one of the great things about Adventure People - They were built tough enough that you could play with them outside. I used to jump the jeeps off of ramps from my front porch to the yard. They would fly at least 4 feet off the ground, hit the yard and roll, but they never broke. They did get scuffed up a bit, but that made them look even better! Toys these days are not made as well as back then.

I was just going back and reminiscing with my kids about the toys I grew up playing with and came across this article. WOW, what a great blast from the past. I spent countless hours (truth be told...YEARS) playing with the Adventure People. I would love to get them for my kids (and maybe play with them myself, when they go to bed)...LOL Anyone know how to purchase these sets??My e-mail is sirvjr4@bellsouth.net THank you much!!

i 'm darn near thirty five years old, and my boy plays happily with the jeep i played with as the third of three boys who were not easy ontheir toys. (i must admit i play with it too.) yes , the suspension is pretty well shot, but for a toy thatt's thrity years old, that jeep still mows em down. i gave my little cousin my daredevil biker for christmas when i was a teenager. his boy still plays with that one too. adventure people totally rule, and unlike star wars aciton figures, they allowed you to actually use your imagination, raher than just reenact movie plots.
