Universal Music, which remastered and re-released the rest of the post-1970 Rolling Stones catalogue in 2009,[23] issued a new remastering of Exile on Main St. in a deluxe package in May 2010.[24] Of the ten bonus tracks, five are undoctored outtakes from the original sessions: I'm Not Signifying, an early version of Tumbling Dice entitled Good Time Women, the instrumental Title 5, and alternates of Loving Cup and Soul Survivor, the last featuring a Richards lead vocal.[25] The other five tracks received overdubs just prior to release on this package, new lead vocals by Jagger on all, backing vocals in places by past and current Stones tour singers Cindy Mizelle and Lisa Fischer, and a new guitar part by Mick Taylor on Plundered My Soul. [25] On the selection of tracks, Richards said, Well, basically it's the record and a few tracks we found when we were plundering the vaults. Listening back to everything we said, 'Well, this would be an interesting addition.' [26]

To hear Exile On Main Street after so many years reminds us of the Rolling Stones at their peak. This remastered version is outstanding and the new tracks are something to behold. Specifically, Alternate Versions of All Down the Line, Soul Survivor and Loving Cup are superb. Previously unreleased;Plundered My Soul is the real deal for Stones Fans Specifically and Rock Fans generally. The song takes you right back to 1971 with Mick Taylor's driving rhythm guitar and Keith Richard's lead. Good Time Women, an alternate, faster version of Tumbling Dice is a rocker and almost as good as the original. Finally, make sure to listen to Title 5--the only Stones Instrumental I have ever heard. It sounds like the Stones version of a Dick Dale or Beach Boys instrumental. This is truly a collector's item and hats off to the producers for providing this wonderful gift to music lovers everywhere.M. Any time an old album or catalog gets remastered and reissued, the first question that comes to mind is, do I really have to buy this again? Getting a jump on Capitol's revamp of the entire Beatles oeuvre (due in September), Universal Music Group kicked off its resurrection of the post-1971 Rolling Stones catalog this month with a batch that includes one absolute classic (Sticky Fingers), two discs that warrant serious consideration or at least cherry-picking for singles (Goats Head Soup and It's Only Rock 'n' Roll) and one uneven set generally relegated to devotees-only status, though it might deserve better (Black and Blue).
