Virtua Tennis puts you right amongst the excitement and action of real tournament tennis. The demo version puts you in Jim Courier's shoes for an exhibition match.
A sequel, Virtua Tennis 2: World Tour was released for the PlayStation Portable. 2006 saw the release of Virtua Tennis 3 in the arcades (using the Sega Lindbergh hardware). Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PC versions were released in 2007. The latest version, Virtua Tennis 2009, was released on June 9, 2009 on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii platforms.[1][2] There will be an upcoming sequel, Virtua Tennis 4, is set to be released at 2011.
In March of this year, Sega updated their Virtua Tennis franchise for the next generation console systems, and while doing so, also ported the third Virtua Tennis title to the PC. Now it's clear that PS3 and Xbox 360 are the primary platforms for the game, but what do we get on the PC? Another half-baked quick hack console port or something better?
