The Canon EOS 350D (Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT in North America and the Canon EOS Kiss Digital N in Japan) is an 8.0-megapixel midrange digital single-lens reflex camera manufactured by Canon. The model was initially announced in February 2005. It uses Compact Flash storage and a Lithium ion battery. Part of the EOS, it is the successor to the EOS 300D and the predecessor to the EOS 400D (or Digital Rebel XTi), which was released in August 2006. Since early 2008, the 350D has been remaindered (production ceased in 2005)[1].

Unleashing the limitations of the Digital Rebel 300D will make the XT 350D a serious competitor to the Nikon D70. That certainly was the case with me, which is why I changed my mind, and just placed my pre-order for the Canon. This is going to be a long month of waiting... Ive not used a 20D, and I bought the 350D to upgrade my p&s kodak Dc280. Its a fantastic camera, in my opinion, akin to a canon A1 of the old days. Its good enough for 8x10 inch pictures, and the quality and resolution is more than adequate. Size is ok, battery life is very good. I may be part of the group which this camera is aimed at, is'm not a pro! Stop griping at plastic, look at the end result, why get a 20D? fantastic!
