Summary: The Gopro HD with LCD screen arrived & was not working the second the LCD back pack was put on & firmware updated. This item was released way too soon. You will be forced to return the item back at your expense for repair. Even Gopro's own forum has many many people with this issue of dead cameras. A very large percentage of people whom have run the firmware are not dealing with postage costs j& long delays for warranties.
Summary: I was skeptical about the camera, after seeing some of my friends GoPro wide cameras (low def). They had good pictures, but not great. I got my HD then they all bought new cameras too as the difference is night and day. This is a good product for the price and I highly recommend it. The biggest con is that it is very particular about what memory card brands and size you have to use to get the best picture. Also, it took them a very long time to release the promised firmware updates. These are minor annoyances.I also like to give credit for great customer service when it is deserved. Mine stopped working within the 1 year warranty (SAVE YOUR RECEIPT) but I needed it for an upcoming ski trip. I got the RMA from GoPro's website and sent it out FedEx two day on 12/23. I got an email from GoPro the Monday after Christmas telling me a new unit was on the way and it showed up before New Years. A+ to GoPro. Thanks!!
GoPro showed off their latest line of HD and 3D Cameras at CES 2011. These cameras are made specifically for filming during participation in extreme sports. They can be worn on your helmet, chest or even mounted on a vehicle. The GoPro HD has about 2 1/2 hours of battery life. The battery is a 1100 mAh Lithium-ion battery, they do offer an extended battery pack which double the battey life. There is also an separate LCD video screen attachment. The screen attaches to the camera like a building bloc. The camera can film at 780p, 960p or 1080p. The camera also shoots stills at 2/5/10/30 and 60 second intervals.
