The BenQ G2200W (Analog) is a computer display monitor that was designed to provide the computer user access to a 22-inch viewing area. This hardware component is solely responsible for rendering to the computer user all video signals received from the graphics processing card. The video adapter card sends analog video signals to the BenQ G2200W (Analog) via the 15-pin D-sub video output port. As part of the display subsystem the graphics processing card receives processed information from the underlying operating system platform or the installed software applications. These processed data are then sent as electric impulses that travel across the video cable and to the computer display monitor. Part of the role of the device driver is to make sure that the signals are properly formatted to avoid potential display errors. Essentially the device drivers of the display subsystem communicate with each other to make sure that data is properly rendered.
The G2200W shares many of the common traits of 22in monitors, with a native resolution of 1680x1050 pixels and a 5ms response rate l— good enough for most uses, though fast motion movies and games may suffer. The monitor’s 1000:1 contrast ratio pales in comparison to competing units like ASUS’ , though it does have a dynamic contrast ratio of 2500:1. Connectivity is limited to standard D-Sub and DVI connections.
