The modified top tube design is a strengthen design borrowed from higher end Diamondback models and similar to some Specialized bikes.

The new Diamondback hardtail trail frames have been specifically designed to be a gravity feed trail bikes. These bikes will take all the abuse of the toughest descents with Hydroformed tubing giving an ideal combination of high strength and low weight. They also feature a UK specific design, this comes in the shape of massive mud and heel clearance at the rear, designated Crud catcher mounts on the downtube and even a spare replaceable dropout just in case.The Response Sport is the perfect UK trail centre bike, the Shimano Deore groupset will keep you spinning while the new frame and 120mm Suntour XCR forks will help you when things get a little loose, this coupled with the great tread of the Continental Mountain King tyres and the control of the Quad Dime brakes will keep you on the trail.
