Croc Playstation Game Views
The game received several positive reviews and sold well, becoming a PlayStation Greatest Hits game. The game soon spawned a sequel, Croc 2 which released in 1999. There were also two Croc games released on mobile phones made by a studio related to Argonaut named Morpheme (the first being a platformer titled Croc Mobile: Jungle Rumble, while the second was a pinball game titled Croc Mobile Pinball). However, the games now no longer exist, due to Morpheme's site no longer being available.
The original Croc was graphically impressive for its time because it showed that seamless 3D platform worlds were possible on the PlayStation (something Spyro did to a much greater degree a year later). It seemed to have all the elements in place to be a great title: a cute mascot with a bevy of different moves, and elements from all the major platform games. But two fatal flaws knocked it down: The gameplay was repetitive, and lack of camera control led to numerous frustrating, cheap deaths.
