Despite the fact that the sales person told me the Chi is the only way to go, I am very happy with this purchase. If you're on a budget I feel you can't go wrong with this straightener. I've never had one in this price range work so well. It gets really hot, I don't even use the highest setting like I used to have to do on my old straightener. I have medium length hair that tends to get wavy/curly in random places. The Conair has no problems taming it in seriously minutes when it used to take me close to 20 minutes before. I also like that my hair doesn't get frizzy during the day or revert back to its natural state. It stays nice a straight all day long.
