Colorpass Z40 Views
Canon U.S.A., Inc., the company whose imaging solutions give people Know How, announced today the immediate availability of the new ColorPASS-Z40 print controller for its mid-high range CLC 1100 Series color copier/printer line. This latest addition to the ColorPASS-Z series, developed for Canon by Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (NASDAQ: EFII), features enhanced color accuracy and management in a versatile, low-cost solution.
New PowerWise architecture equips the ColorPASS-Z40 with an Intel Celeron 433 MHz processor, 128MB of RAM, a 8.4GB Hard Drive, and internal CD-ROM and ZIP drive. Windows NT is the resident operating system. The new ColorWise 2 color management system comes standard on the unit, allowing the downloading of ICC and custom profiles and simulations to match the calibration of monitors, scanners, or other output devices. With ECT file compression technology, the ColorPASS-Z40 dramatically improves raster image processor (RIP) performance while delivering the total compression of large files without data loss.

The ColorPASS-Z40 features FreeForm, a powerful software application that allows business professionals to easily incorporate variable data into their printing environment. All CLC 1100 series users can now create personalized documents with information and graphics. The ColorPASS-Z40 is the first low-cost ColorPASS solution to offer variable data printing.
