A wise dentist once said to me, that you can relate toothbrushes to cars. The cheap ones will just be able to get the job done, but the more expensive ones are the ones that can do the job also, but done more extravagantly and better. I decided to take this quote and look at a new tooth brush to buy – instantly the Colgate 360 toothbrush stuck out in my mind when I first saw it.
One of these things that the Colgate 360 toothbrush had was that it actually had an in-built tongue cleaner. At first this did seem like a large gimmick to bring in the average consumer to buy it as it was something “innovative” (don’t mean to cause offence here). But the reason why they included it was because their lab experts and doctors had concluded that the build up of bacteria on our tongues is one of the main sources of why a person has bad breath.
But maybe this was due to the fact that I hadn’t necessarily followed the instructions on how to use it effectively on the Colgate website. To the letter. It says that I should only brush my tongue for 10 seconds before stopping. For many seconds of this short time period it felt like I wanted to stuff the Colgate 360 toothbrush down the loo as it felt so unusual.
