In October 2010, Dave Hoover announced through his deviantART account, that he will not continue drawing the Charmed Comic books. He finds that he is not paid what he deserves. No comments have been made by Zenescope yet on he will be hired, or is hired. But fans strongly presume it's Marcio Abreu. Who recently released a test drawing (see gallery).
The Charmed comic book series will have a new story line continued from where the television series left off. It will be written by Paul Ruditis, who is known for writing several Charmed novels, such as Leo Rising and As Puck Would Have It. Raven Gregory (Wonderland) will be co-writing and Dave Hoover (Captain America, The Wonderers) will provide the interior art for the series. The Charmed comic book series will be tailored to not alienate new fans who arend’t familiar with the television series.
On March 15, 2010, Zenescope Entertainment announced that it had acquired the rights, from CBS Consumer Products, to publish comic books and graphic novels based on Charmed.[85][86][87] Author Paul Ruditis was hired as lead writer of the project with Zenescope's Raven Gregory co-authoring with him for the first three issues. Dave Hoover was hired to do the interior artwork while David Seidman was hired as the series' main cover artist however many other artists will contribute various variant covers for the series.
The first issue of the comic book series picks up 18 months after the end of the live action series. The Halliwell sisters are trying to live in their world of happily ever after but, alas, that is never going to be their lives. The Charmed Ones attract trouble and, starting off the story, it looks like trouble ’s about to come to them.
