Butterfly Kisses is a ballad by Bob Carlisle and Randy Thomas from Carlisle's third studio album Butterfly Kisses (Shades of Grace).[1] The song was written for his daughter Brooke's 16th birthday. [2] Carlisle also wrote a journal entitled Butterfly Kisses for fathers and their daughters. There have been many cover versions of the song including Raybon Brothers, Jeff Carson, Westlife and Cliff Richard.

Jeff Carson also recorded his own version on his second album for Curb Records, which was also titled Butterfly Kisses. Carson's version peaked at #63 on the country music charts. The album also featured an alternate version of the song, which contained elements from Kippi Brannon's then-current single Daddy's Little Girl .

Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses is the debut album by American metalcore band Atreyu, released on June 4, 2002, under Victory Records. The album featured re-worked versions of the songs Living Each Day Like You're Already Dead, Someone's Standing on My Chest and Tulips are Better , which originally appeared on the band's 2001 EP, Fractures in the Facade of Your Porcelain Beauty. Ain't Love Grand and Lip Gloss and Black were released as singles and music videos were also made for these two songs. The latter video found significant airplay on Headbangers Ball and Uranium in fall 2003.

On February 23, 2004, Victory Records re-released Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses as a limited edition with new liner notes from the band. The new version of the album shipped with a bonus DVD. The bonus DVD contained a live concert featuring 6 songs at the Showcase Theatre, Corona, California held on December 27, 2003, two of the band's music videos, a documentary Lairs which takes a look at the homes of the band members and biographies of the members of the band and crew, as follows:
