All this makes it a breeze to tear through everything in a single sitting. Some levels, most notably the second one where you just snowboard down a mountain, can be zipped through in under five minutes. It's possible to save Mata Nui in less time than it takes to watch the Bionicle movie. And when you're done, you're done, as there is no multiplayer option--either via the PS2's online adapter or multiple controllers.

Bionicle isn't much of a looker. Although the various regions do have a fair bit of character, backgrounds seem oddly stale and are separated from the action. It's like you're playing in front of blurry, somewhat pixelated, postcards. However, foreground colors are bright and dynamic, particularly in the vivid red volcanic and the bright white and blue ice levels. So the visuals are not without a certain appeal, especially to PS2 owners who enjoy kiddie cartoons. All of the robot animations are excellent. The Toa scamper about with a mechanical lurch that seems authentic to anyone who's watched enough sci-fi movies to know that's how robots move.

Well, this walkthrough series will show you the gameplay to just that… BIONICLE: The Game, playable on the PlayStation 2 (PS2). BIONICLE: The Game was actually based off of BIONICLE: Mask of Light (or BIONICLE: The Movie), the LEGO and Miramax film from 2003. So, it seems all LEGO video games _"are)" based of movies! Well, don't let the deter you from enjoying this playthrough of the BIONICLE game.
