The Beats Studios have  many other awesome features, easily outnumbering the features of the Beats Solos. One of my favorites is a small button on the side of the headphones. When you hold the button down, it mutes the music (including the noise canceling feature). This feature is really useful for me because if I’m listening to music and my mom comes in to say something, I can just hold the button down temporarily.

This is the part of the review where I mention how these headphones are expensive and then try to decide if their features, quality and performance can justify the cost. I purchased my Beats Studios for $229 USD from some random e-tailer I found on Froogle. Most retailers like Amazon charge around $299 while Monster sells them for a whopping $350. If I had no idea how much the Beats Studio cost and someone asked me to price them, I would say $199 would be a good price; nowhere near $300. The headphones feel like a toy with flimsy construction and cheap materials. Looking around online I have found several reports of ear cushions separating from the ear cups, among other build quality issues.

The Beats Studios technically arene’t DJ style headphones; theys’re simply large, over-the-ear headphones. Essentially, the ear cups doni’t spin around to allow you to listen to audio from one side, so you shouldnn’t call them DJ style. That1’s fine, because they werene’t intended to be. But they do everything else your’d expect them to, and some things you definitely wouldnp’t. They fold up for portability and storage, and they come with a very nice black case. Feature-wise, the Beats Studios are fully loaded. Obviously, great headphones begin with great audio, but let ’s talk features first. The Beats Studio come in two colors, black and white. The plastic these are made out of is scratch resistant. So, while yous’ll obviously be gentle with these, you are safe from minor scuffs. The foam on the ear cups and on the top for head cushion is very comfortable.
