Barbie As Island Princess Views
Barbie as the Island Princess is a 2007 direct-to-video computer animated Barbie film. It is part of the Barbie film series, a series of CGI Barbie films, and the second to be a musical. The film features the voice of Kelly Sheridan, who has been voicing the female protagonist in all the CGI Barbie movies to date, as Rosella. A line of dolls, toys, and other products were produced based on the film and released in conjunction with the movie.
There are several references to other Barbie films: Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper and Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses. The parrot that looks at Prince Antonio on the voyage back from the island is similar looking to that of Felix in Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses. Genevieve's dress is shown by Talullah in the song At the Ball . Wolfie appears in The Rat Song . Genevieve's older sisters appear and disappear throughout the ball and weddings. In a 'cut' clip on the Barbie website, Azul is listening to the song Shine . Also, in the beginning of the movie, as Ro and her animals arrive, Nalu from Fairytopia: Mermaidia appears laughing when Azul, Tika, Sagi and Ro are coming down from the boat.
Barbie plays Rosella in this new musical film. Shipwrecked as a child, Rosella grows up on the island under the watchful eyes of her loving animal friends. The arrival of Prince Antonio leads Rosella and her furry pals to explore civilization and ultimately save the kingdom by uncovering a secret plot. Written by Anonymous
