The Flyboys Pilot Kneeboard is probably the most versatile aviation kneeboard on the market. Designed by an F-16 pilot, this aviation kneeboard is narrower than typical tri-folds. It features seven eyelets for securing checklists, plastic checklist pages or an in-flight guide. Every Base has different spacing so this military kneeboard works wherever you are!

I've loaded our EFB (electronic flight bag) content—manuals, airline regs, etc.—on the iPad using GoodReader. For legality reasons, we still have to bring our approved laptop however. Hopefully we can get the iPad approved for these manuals. Unfortunately, the FAA won't approve approach plates to be used in an airliner unless they're built-in to the aircraft (what's known as Class II or Class III EFB).The kneeboard would be fantastic in a general aviation airplane using approach plates and sectionals, though. I think we'll see more uses for the iPad in cockpits than we've imagined so far. Perhaps a moving map display with terrain information, bluetooth engine monitor or weight and balance computer?
