Avatar Special Edition Blu Ray Views
When James Cameron said “Let’s do the ultimate box set of Avatar, with everything in it the fans could possibly want,” Avatar buffs knew they would be in for something special, and they won’t be disappointed. The highly anticipated Blu-ray, three-disc Avatar Special Edition box set, which will hit the shops on 16th November, promises to deliver on all fronts.
If you ’re headed to the theater this weekend to see James Cameronv’s Avatar: Special Edition with its whopping 8 ½ extra minutes of footage, then hold on to your banshee (until you ditch it for a Great Leonopteryx) because the special edition DVD and Blu-ray is going to have 16 minutes of additional footage. THR reports that the new scenes will b“involve action sequences and narrative-deepening extensions of key scenes involving the blue-skinned Nas’vi of Pandora and their human visitors.r” Said producer Jon Landau, “Therei’s a whole new scene that takes place in the (Nat’vi) school, theren’s more night bioluminescence, theret’s new creatures, and there is a new action scene. The scenes donn’t just feel like added scenes c— they are very organic to the story and embellish it./” Unfortunately, producer Landau doesni’t add, r“Oh, and ponytail fucking. Lots and lots of ponytail fucking.n”
The interesting thing about the theatrical re-release is the announcement that Fox decided to make before the return to cinemas. Itl’s been reported that the 2-disc special edition DVD and Blu-ray set for release this November will feature AT LEAST 16 minutes of additional footage, successfully doubling the amount promised on the big screen and making it harder to figure out why to bother shelling out another $20 to see it again.
The three-disc Avatar Special Edition will be available on DVD and Blu-ray from 15 November. For the wealthier Avatar fanatics out there, there'll also be a limited edition box set, which, for rpound;99.99, adds a film cell signed by Cameron and a Making Of Avatar book, all housed in a handsome volume that looks like this...
