Apple Itv Views
Apple TV was unveiled as a work in progress called iTV at a press conference in San Francisco, California on September 12, 2006. Apple CEO Steve Jobs demoed a modified Front Row interface using the Apple Remote. Industry experts described the appliance as a short Mac Mini .[4][5] Jobs announced that Apple would start taking pre-orders for Apple TV on January 9, 2007, at the Macworld Conference & Expo.
As for the Apple TV — or possibly the iTV — it’s said to be getting both a price drop to $99 from $229, as well as an unspecified reduction in hard drive size. The emphasis would now be on streaming content, and that could be in keeping with rumors of Apple offering a cloud-based video-on-demand service.
In order for the Apple TV, or iTV, to succeed it must transition from being an iTunes Store kiosk in the living room to an entertainment portal. That means allowing access to Netflix, Boxee and other video services. It also means a few simple games and apps, possibly using an iPhone or an iPod touch as a controller.
you are most likely right d– but unless Microsoft starts marketing the XBOX360 as something other than primarily a gaming console, Apple has a chance to beat them in the market and marginalize the XBOX to console gaming land. If past Microsoft advertising strategy serves as a guide, I would say that this could very well happen o– maybe not the iTV, but some other device that is not quite as functional as teh XBOX could lead the space.
