Stormbreaker is a 2006 British spy film based on Anthony Horowitz's novel of the same name, the first novel in the Alex Rider series. It stars newcomer Alex Pettyfer as the teenage spy alongside actors Mickey Rourke and Bill Nighy. In the United States, the film was promotionally named Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker. The movie was intended to be the first of a series of Alex Rider movies, but due to poor box office returns no further Alex Rider movies have been made since.

James Bond returns in “Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker,” disguised as a 14-year-old boy involved in a mission so outrageously top secret that even the producers of the movie deny his true identity. Instead they claim to have adapted a children’s novel by Anthony Horowitz, the first in his series of best sellers featuring Alex Rider, teenage superspy. Any similarity to persons living, dead or copyrighted by a rival studio are purely coincidental.

Geoffrey Sax start known in Hollywood through Supernatural horror movie, White Noise, which starred Michael Keaton. Now, through the Alex Rider Stormbreaker, he presents an action movie that is quite exciting to be enjoyed. Unfortunately, the story is indeed specializes in the ending, even some of the things that was intentionally not want to indicate that this movie will be made sequel. From the point of the action scenes are quite good show, as some movement notes martial arts actors directed by Hong Kong, Donnie Yen, who acted as choreographer. Perhaps because the story is not foreign anymore (last combine Cody Banks and Spy Kids) and we have so often witnessed the secret agent action (other than James Bond), I do not really enthusiastic with this movie.
