9800 Gtx Cooler Views
The 9800 GTX Mosfet Cooler is a heavy duty aluminum heatsink specifically designed for passive cooling of the mosfets on the nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX series of graphic cards. It bolts to the graphics card thru existing mounting holes. The mounting patter is compatible with nVidia reference design exclusively. It's a perfect companion to VGA water-blocks such as the MCW-60 or the Obsidian full coverage water-block.
I found the Accelero XTREME 9800 that came out last month but no US website has it and its the only one that i have seen to work just for the 9800 GTX card I own. New egg has the 8800 version but can't tell me if or when they are getting the 9800 cooler in. If anyone knows a cooler that will work for the 9800 for sure please let me know. The 9800 card runs so hot and causes the computer to restart so i am forced to go back to the 8600 i own till i can find a good cooler.
You will be happiest with the 9800GTX. The cooler should not be that loud, only when gaming and the explosions should drowned that out. My GTS runs quiet when not gaming and has the same fan as the GTX. The stock GT has a smaller cooler so has to run harder to keep cool on load. However if you get a GT i would recommend one of the brands that has a non stock cooler, like MSI. They are much larger and are quieter.
Aquagrafx 9800 GTX is made from highly purified electrolyte copper (99,99% - okay, we lied a little and admit not to knowing exactly what purified electrolyte actually means) and manages to weigh in at only 600 grams and its height profile measures just 6mm. Itt's not a lightweight cooler by any means but it probably wonx't snap your PCI Express x16 port off your motherboard, either.
