The Sony KDL-EX700 Series of HD TVs is a great modern TV featuring LED edge lighting, internet connectivity, and a unique proximity sensor. The LED edge-lighting means that the KDL-EX700's are backlight with LEDs instead of fluorescent bulbs, so they use less power and offer local dimming. Local dimming allows different parts of the screen to be lit at different brightness levels, which can generate higher contrast ratios, and thus a better picture. The KDL-EX700 offers a variety of internet-streaming video options, like Netflix and YouTube capabilities, among others. The KDL-EX700 also has a unique presence sensor which will turn off the picture after it stops detecting movement in the room, thus saving power (this feature can be adjusted and disabled, if you prefer). The sensor can also detect and react to ambient light levels, to give you an optimum picture.
