The Cape of Legends is the only pure white cape and is sometimes seen as a status symbol as a series of challenging quests must be completed to equip it. There are various NPCs who appear to be wearing The Cape of Legends or some variation there of. The Cape of Legends is at a slight disadvantage to the Obsidian Cape, which has no level or skill requirments to equip and +2 greater defense. This slight disadvantage and the Cape of Legends' high skill requirment angered a vocal minority who urged Jagex to at least equalize both capes. However, it should be noted that the Cape of Legends is far cheaper than the Obsidian Cape, making it a popular choice when PKing or taking part in dangerous activites.
