SHOCKING!!!!!!!! That is all i can say, the BOKS bring home the world cup twice and they still get targetted. Everyone in the world knows our rugby team as the SPRINGBOKS, SA makes money because of that emblem.Wake the F... upp!!!!!! Both black and white in SA call them SPRINGBOKS and then a bunch of idiots that has to find a way to justify their huge salary`s come and mess everything upp!!!! It is a sad, sad day in the history of not only South African rugby but also of South Africa as a country! This is not the way to integrate SA, more likely it creates more segregation!!!!! VIVA POWER TO THE SPRINGBOK

Personally I think it looks great! The rugby team will probably always be known as and referred to as the springboks and yes they've done us proud with 2 world cups. The change in the PLACEMENT of the logo has nothing to do with targeting as you put it. All other sporting codes in South Africa are represented by the King Protea and rugby up until now has been the only South African sport that has not fallen under this common representation. This has nothing to do with Black and White and what either refers to the rugby team as, or even the minimizing of segregation as you commented on. It's simply putting all sports in line with what is recognised by all South African's (bar yourself apparently) as the national sporting symbol. Australia carry the same type of logo format with the Wallaby on the right and the Rugby Union logo on the left.

The South African national rugby union team (the Springboks) are the current holders of the Rugby World Cup and 2009 British and Irish Lions Series winners.[1] They are currently ranked as the third best team in the IRB World Rankings and were named 2008 World Team of the Year at the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards.

Although South Africa was instrumental in the creation of the Rugby World Cup competition, the Springboks did not compete in the first two World Cups in 1987 and 1991 because of anti-apartheid sporting boycotts of South Africa. The team made its World Cup debut in 1995, when the newly democratic South Africa hosted the tournament. The Springboks then defeated the All Blacks 15–12 in the final, which is now remembered as one of the greatest moments in South Africa's sporting history, and a watershed moment in the post-Apartheid nation-building process. South Africa regained their title as champions 12 years later, when they defeated England 15–6 in the 2007 final. As a result of the 2007 World Cup tournament the Springboks were promoted to first place in the IRB World Rankings; a position they held until July the following year when New Zealand regained the top spot.
