Adidas Italia 60 Views
The Adidas Italia 74 trainers were in fact themselves a modernised version of the 'Adidas Italia' initially released in 1959 as an all-round shoe for indoor sports athletes, coaches, and instructors. The original Adidas Italia were the most worn shoe at the 1960 Rome Olympics. This updated version, a design which is now some 36 years old, features a full-leather upper and a small suede toe bumper, blown rubber outside and an EVA insole. I love these trainers, I like many retro Adidas things actually, in fact I think that Adidas are greater than any other shoe manufacturer at making products which never go out of fashion.
Adidas' 60 years of legendary sporting status is intelligently reinforced with the key Eras reflected by key models of the time, from age-defying '50s football and rugby designs to the forward-thinking '90s Tech and Torsion legacy. The Italia was introduced back in 1960 as and became a popular training shoe. This modern incarnation is celebrated here in a new colourway and rich materials.
The Adidas London reissue headed up a clutch of classic Adidas reissues yesterday, selling out pretty much as soon as it hit the online stores. But some other cool designs are still available, including two new versions of the Adidas Italia 60 trainers. Both are faithful reproductions of the sports shoe designed for the Rome Olympics back in 1960, the version above with a suede upper in whaty's described as a 'fango and white/' colourway. Finished off with gold branding, it sells for £64.99.
