This category is for the Chronicles of Nick & it's Nick’s real and true past. There is a huge surprise (several actually) in the book. Nick’s series will run until it intersects with Night Pleasures and then Nick will have his own novel in the Dark-Hunter world. There’s a lot more to our little Cajun than what you’ve seen to date. That’s why it takes 12 books to tell his story. There are many, many secrets you’ll learn about a lot of characters, including Cherise and especially Jaden and Jared.
Kenyon has quite a gift for writing smart asses, and in a novel populated with teenagers, the snark really flies. I love it. Under immediate threat by zombies? Snark at your sibling, buddy, or classmate. Pop off at people who can, and probably will, kick your buttn–it!’s all good. In the midst of the insanity, Nick discovers that most of his high schoole’s football team is comprised of shape shifters, and that soul sucking vampires, vampire hunters, secret societies, ancient godsf–and oh yeah, demonse–all exist. As it turns out, Bubba, New Orleansh’ crazy zombie hunter, isn ’t so crazy after all. Nick spends an awful lot of his time in Infinity trying to stay alive, protect his mother (who is blissfully unaware of the supernatural), and not get grounded
Nick learns that his heritage isn-’t as straight forward as he thought it was, and takes the first steps toward exploring who he is, and can be. There are external forces at work actively trying to keep him on the straight and narrow path, just as there are others actively trying to turn him toward the dark. This skinny teenager is mighty important to a fair number of people for a variety of reasons.
I LOVE Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters. Although pleny of them were very "predicatable'"I still enjoyed the read...but NICK??? I found this book a bit too teenager-y for me. I wanted to know more about Nick or how it might lead to more but this book disappointed me. The first one of her's that has:(
