D. Scott Rogo (February 1, 1950—August 18, 1990) was a writer and researcher on subjects related to parapsychology. He wrote or co-wrote 20 books and more than 100 magazine and journal articles[1], 7 books were reprinted in 2005 by Anomalist Books[2], Leaving the body was reprinted in 2008 by Simon & Schuster[3]. Rogo was active at the Psychical Research Foundation (formerly at Durham, North Carolina) and at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. The D. Scott Rogo Award was established in 1992[4] to benefit authors working on manuscripts pertaining to parapsychology[5]
Scott Rogo's mother says that her son became interested in psychic phenomenon after an out-of-body experience (OBE). Even before graduation he had become an earnest and intelligent researcher and author into paranormal subjects. His classic book on otherworldly music NAD, was published in 1972, when Rogo was only 22 years of age. Rogo then served as a visiting researcher at both the Psychical Research Foundation in North Carolina and the Division of Parapsychology and Psychophysics of Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He published scientific papers on research into the Ganzfeld, and was also active in field investigations of hauntings and poltergeists.

Meanwhile I'm appealing to the world at large (thanks to the internet) to help find justice for Scott Rogo and get a killer off the streets. Every retelling of Rogo's death in print and on TV (2 shows in 1992) has always left the impression that the case was solved and the perpetrator was in prison. As a result there are people out there who might have had important information, but who have had no reason to come forward. Additionally, since the case was officially closed for many years, all evidence from the original trial (such as the murder weapon) was ordered destroyed in 1996. I am concerned that if we wait much longer more evidence will be lost, witnesses and memories will disappear, and a vicious killer will kill again.
