by JULIE H on 2009-04-17My favourite book is 'Pompeii - Buried Alive' because it's so hard to believe that it really happened. My favourite part of the book was when Vesuvius erupted. It made me feel amazed because it's a true story. I think you'll want to read this book because it's about a volcano that exploded over a city filled with people. And today, it's still standing in Italy. It is in ruins. I love this book! by Lauren, age 7
by Jodie W. on 2008-03-14The book Pompeii…Buried Alive by Edith Kunhardt is one of my favorite books this year! It was copy written in 1987, illustrated by Michael Eagle, and published by Random House, Inc. This book is about a sleeping giant, who is really the volcano, Mt. Vesuvius. Edith Kunhardt tells the adventurous tale about the unsuspecting city of Pompeii that gets surprised by the violent eruption and is then buried by ashes and rocks. The town is hidden for hundreds of years and is found again only by accident! My favorite part of the book was when the giant wakes up and explodes! The book made me feel like I was there screaming and running for my life. The illustrations were also very colorful and creative. Michael Eagle does a great job of bringing the pictures to life. I think you will want to read this book because it is really exciting! By Audrey-age 6
