Pore over hotels in Los Angeles for your next holiday in sunny Southern California and chances are, a fleet of gourmet food trucks will be rollin ’ close by. In a few short years, L.A. has pioneered and developed the most eclectic network of meals on wheels anywhere in North America. From Korean taco trucks to avant-garde grilled cheese, Vietnamese banh mi to bacon-centric comfort food, the City of Angels is a mobile grub paradise. Salivating adherents hit up Twitter to follow their faves and random corners of the city get mobbed in minutes. Special events like this off-the-wall food truck mashup take the entire notion to zany new heights.

Councilwoman Carla Madison was volunteered to head a task force that will work with truck owners, restaurant owners, neighborhood leaders and others to clean up the draft of the current rules. But that's not all: The task force will also propose some changes to regulations that were established at least a decade ago, and in some cases, in the much more distant past, long before anyone envisioned gourmet food trucks taking off. For example, one requirement is that trucks not park within 200 feet of each other -- which would make all those hip, happening Justice League events of the past few months completely illegal.

The gourmet food truck craze has taken over Los Angeles, with popular roving catering trucks maintaining a following by using Twitter to let their fans know where they can catch their latest Korean taco or coconut cupcake fix. You can feel like a local by joining the queue for one of these meals or treats on wheels. Following these mobile commissaries on Twitter can have added bonus of letting you in on where a hot nightclub event, festival or free concert is happening, since the trucks follow the crowds.

When I created my initial list of Gourmet Los Angeles Food Trucks, there were only about a dozen on Twitter, and those were the ones I listed. Now there are well over 200, and there's no way I can try them all, so I've listed some I really like or find interesting and I've added a User Review section at the bottom, where you can add your own recommendations if you have favorites.
