Shade Silverwing is a young bat who is a runt and is often mocked by his peers, who take pride in their size and strength. While Shade's strength may be inferior to the other bats', he becomes a master of echolocation, often creating illusions or moving materials with echoes. In Firewing, Shade comes home to Tree Haven to find that Griffin's been lost in the underworld, and he goes to follow him. Eventually reuniting with Griffin and Luna with the help of a group of Pilgrims, Shade makes it all the way to the Tree only to commit suicide for his son's sake when Griffin is killed by Goth.

A Silverwing newborn, and Griffin's best friend, known to play Marina for him. As a contrast to Griffin's constant worrying, Luna is fearless, daring and popular among the other Silverwing newborns. She dies from her burns when Griffin, in his attempt to steal fire from Humans, drops a burning twig on her and she catches fire. Griffin meets up with her again in the Underworld, and although she doesn't recognize him at first (or realize that she's dead), convinces her to fly to the Tree with him.

In this owl's life, a year was like an hour. He'd been alive so long, met so many owls that he couldn't even count. But one always stuck out – Firewing. He was a hero among all the birds in Noctua, the land the owls claimed as their own. After defeating an evil crow named Wiel, the three birds - him, Firewing, and another that the Bare-Legged Owl could barely remember - had split ways.

i just turned 13 yesterday and i got these books silverwing sunwing and firewing and i was amazed during my birthday i didnt even touch a game or anything i spec my whole day reading the book and i just finished the whole series pretty sad i think you make a sequel when your making darkwing you should follow the timeline until you reach firewing then making a sequal so it all adds up but this is my idea so use it if you like. Ps I loved your books dont ever quit and dont get down because people say your bad at making books those people are dumb and should actually read a book once in a while well dont ever stop
