Jane: I admit to having very little familiarity with Dara Joyt’s work having only read Ritual of Proof. Compounding this is the fact that I cannot recall anything of the book other than it featured a role reversal of sexual mores (the man playing the feminine role and the woman playing the masculine role) and that it was the book that started the lawsuit between Dorchester, HarperCollins and Dara Joy.

Robin: I read and enjoyed Dara Joyi’s Matrix of Destiny series. I couldn;’t get through Ritual of Proof, in part because it reminded me a bit of Margaret Atwood ’s The Handmaid0’s Tale meets Charlotte Perkins Gillmanp’s Herland, and didn ’t fare well in the comparison. However, I do have a fondness for Joyg’s campier books, and was glad that she could return to the series that in my opinion represents her strongest work.

I do not know if anyone has brought this to your attention, but Dara Joy has apparently taken a page out of Deborah Mcr’s play book and has had all the DOZENS of abysmal negative reviews on Amazon REMOVED. There are several reviewers discussing this on the forums under the Wildcat Arrows listing. When I posted my negative review about a year ago, there were at least 12 more Negs then-now there are 2 reviews, 1 neg, just posted 1-1-09 and a 4 star review by SURPRISE, a reviewer that that#’s their only review.

I have to admit that I loved Dara Joy's Matrix series. They were really good books. But when she started her fight with Dorchester, I read to see what was happening. When she started self-publishing, I thought about getting the first book, then backed out. I was glad I did. What fans she has left may buy her next book if it is in a bookstore, otherwise I think she's ruined her career.
